Constant current sources and amplifiers provide a steady output
current independent of the load and input power line with
variations. Usage of these constant sources and amplifiers
include generating magnetic fields, testing and qualifying
products such as circuit breakers, relays, transformers, meters,
etc.
The “CR-A”
series constant current mode amplifiers and “CR-S” series
constant current mode power sources are stable and easy-to-use
power amplifiers / power supplies designed with linear
circuitry. Their output ranges include (1) for low output
current models: 0-1A, 0-2A, 0-5A, 0-10A; and (2) for high output
current models: 0-10A, 0-20A, 0-25A, 0-40A, 0-50A, 0-100A. Other
custom output ranges (up to 1000A) can be specified upon
request.
Constant current mode power amplifiers are also called
transconductance power amplifiers. The frequency response of our
transconductance amplifiers is from
47 Hz to 2K Hz. If a
variable-frequency constant current source is needed, the
combination of a function generator and one of our transconductance power amplifiers will be an ideal solution.
Please consult with the factory if higher output frequencies are
needed. The request can be accommodated, however, it will be
considered a custom design.
The output frequency of our constant current sources is fixed and
defaulted at 60Hz. Other fixed output frequencies within the
40Hz to 4KHz range can be supplied if specified on order. The
output waveform of the constant current sources is defaulted as
sine wave. Other waveforms, such as square wave, triangle wave
and saw wave can be supplied upon request (at additional charge).
The output waveform of our constant current sources always starts from the
zero crossing point when being turned on. Their power ratings
are for continuous duty at full power with +0.7 to -0.7 power
factor.
